In Person Chess Schedule
Fridays - 4:30-6:30 - Students are welcomed to attend the entire time
Novice - 4:45-5:15
Intermediate - 5:15- 5:45

Online Weekly Arena and Review

Introductory Lessons at the Calgary Chess Club (6 weeks) $90
These lessons take place 6:00-7:00 on Thursday evenings at the Calgary Chess Club and do not include any of the other benefits of Membership as listed below. Students in this program may optionally purchase t-shirts and Scorebooks.

Membership (Annual or Session) includes group lessons, regular individual evaluations, tournaments at the Bearspaw Junior Chess Club, online arenas and tournaments, membership in both the Calgary Junior Chess Club and Alberta Chess Association, and tournament ratings with both the Chess Federation of Canada and Chess'n Math Association.
Students are given club t-shirts when joining the club and a new shirt when moving up to the next group. Students and parents may purchase additional t-shirts for $20.00. Novice Level t-shirts come in blue or pink and can also be purchased for parents or siblings. Red shirts are only available to students who have attained the Intermediate Level. Black t-shirts are only available to those who have reached the Advanced Level.
Students are given a Beginner's Chess Scorebook upon reaching Level 3, an Intermediate Scorebook when reaching Level 5, and a Tournament Scorebook when reaching Level 7. Additional Scorebooks are available for purchase.
There will be no refunds or make-ups for students missing classes.
At present, we offer both online and in person lessons. The Bearspaw Junior Chess Club reserves the right to shift classes or tournaments online due to poor weather conditions or government restrictions. No refunds will be issued in these instances.
